ESSENTIAL PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION:
Possession of Degree/Diploma/ Certificate in Instrumental Music (Violin) from a Government recognized Institute
Table/Mridangam:
Possession of Degree / Diploma / Certificate in Instrumental Music (Table or Mridangam) from a Government recognized Institute.
Educational Qualification:
(i) Passed 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination with not less than 50% marks in aggregate for NTPC categories.
50% marks is not insisted upon in the case of SC/ST/ Ex. Servicemen / Persons With Disabilities (PWD) candidates and in case of candidates who possess qualifications higher than the essential minimum prescribed qualification.
Persons if appointed to the category of Clerk-cum-Typist should acquire Typing proficiency of 30 w.p.m. in English or 25 w.p.m. in Hindi within a period of two years from the date of appointment and till such time their appointments to this category will be provisional.
OR
(ii) Matriculation plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship approved by NCVT/ SCVT for technical categories.
OR
(iii) Matriculation plus ITI approved by NCVT / SCVT for technical categories.
a. Valid Certificate showing experience in the field and performance given on AIR / Doordarshan etc.
b. Valid Certificate showing Prizes won in competitions held at National Level by Concerned Academy / recognized by Government.

For all candidates except those mentioned in subpara (ii) below –
Rs. 500/- (Rs. Five Hundred Only) with a provision for refunding Rs.400/- (Rs. Four hundred only) to those who are found eligible as per notification and actually appear in the Written Test. After deducting bank charges. Candidates in this category should check their eligibility thoroughly before applying. Fee in respect of candidates who are ineligible, but still apply, shall not be refunded.
For candidates belonging to SC/ ST/Ex-Servicemen/ Persons with Disability/ Women/ Minorities* and Economically Backward Class** –
Rs. 250/- (Rs. Two Hundred Fifty Only) with a provision for refunding the same to those who are found eligible as per notification and actually appear in the Written Test. After deducting bank charges. Candidates in this category should check their eligibility thoroughly before applying. Fee in respect of candidates who are ineligible, but still apply, shall not be refunded.

The date, time and venue of Written Test/ Computer Based Test (CBT), Practical Demonstration / Document Verification will be fixed by RRC-CHENNAI and will be displayed in the website of Railway Recruitment Cell, Southern Railway at www.rrcmas.in. Request for postponement of the Written Test / Computer Based Test (CBT), Practical Demonstration / Document Verification will not be entertained under any circumstances.
For Written Test / Computer Based Test (CBT), question will be Objective type of multiple choice, which may include General Knowledge, Arithmetic and Cultural Subjects. Duration for Written Test is 60 Minutes.
The candidates must choose any of the following languages only and indicate the same in the application form. Hindi or EnglishEligibility status of the candidate shall be made available on RRC-CHENNAI website.
