- Fireman – not exceed 30 years
- Relaxation of Upper age limit:
- For SC/ ST Applicants: 5 years
- For OBC Applicants: 3 years
- For PwBD (Gen/ EWS) Applicants: 10 years

- For PwBD (OBC) Applicants: 13 years

- Pass in X Std.
- A current heavy motor vehicle driver’s license from the Indian Union.
- At least four to six months of firefighting training from a State Fire Force, Public Sector Undertaking, or government-approved course OR
- A Certificate in Nuclear Biological Chemical Defense and Damage Control (NBCD), which includes firefighting aboard ships from Armed Forces or Accredited Institutions are required.
- Desirable: Knowledge in Malayalam.
- Experience: At least one year of experience fighting fires and preventing them.
