ITI: Minimum 14 years for ITI Apprentices as on date of interview.
Technician/ Diploma: Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years for Technician/Diploma Apprentices as on date of interview.
Graduate/Degree: Minimum 21 years and maximum 26 years for Graduate/Degree Apprentices as on date of interview.
Relaxation: (Relaxation by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, for the posts reserved for them). Candidates belonging to PWD Categories shall be given age relaxation upto 10 years (upto 15 years for SC/ST and upto13 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates.

Minimum Educational Qualifications:
A. Trade (ITI) Apprentices: Passed out trainees in the particular trade of NCVT pattern designated by Director General of Employment & Training (D.G.E.&T) and who have registered with Regional Directorate of Apprenticeship Training (RDAT), Chennai will only be considered for selection.
B. Technician (Diploma)/ Graduate (Degree) Apprentices:
– Graduate/ degree in Engineering/Technology/Non – Engineering full time granted by a recognized University/ Institutions in relevant discipline.
– Diploma in Engineering / Technology in full time granted by a State Council or Board of Technical education Established by a State Government/University/Institutions in relevant discipline.
Other Eligibility Requirements:
1. Graduate/ Technician candidates should have passed the qualifying exam in 2020/2021/2022/2023 are only eligible.
2. Candidates who have registered themselves in the Apprenticeship Portal for Apprenticeship and who fulfil the eligibility criteria as indicated above will be considered for appearing walk-in- interview.
3. Candidates should not have undergone or presently undergoing Apprenticeship Training in CSIR or elsewhere.
4. Candidates should not have experience of one year or more in any job.
5. Sandwich diplomas, private diploma, part time/ Distance/ short term/ certificate courses etc., are not acceptable.
